Welcome to the Surf City Ocean Pier!Topsail Island's first ocean pier, the Surf City Pier, was originally built in 1948. It has been owned and operated by the Lore family since 1973. Though it has weathered many storms (some better than others), Hurricane Fran destroyed it in 1996. It was totally rebuilt and reopened in August of 1997, looking much like it does today including a few additions. The Surf City Pier comes complete with large assortment of bait, fully stocked tackle shop, an eclectic collection of souvenirs fresh ground chuck burger's from the grill, and an outside covered dining area.

Are you Ready for a Reel Good Time! It is time to Grab your 2026 Season Fishing Passes starting Friday, September 19th, and guess what? The good news? Prices haven’t budged a penny. We’ve also got some exciting upgrades we think you’ll love.
Last year, we tried the "open everyday" thing and it was a hit! We're experimenting again! So, this year, we’re keeping those lights on. Until January 4th (except Christmas Eve and Christmas Day), our friendly crew will be at the pierhouse from 9am to 5pm, with weekend hours possibly stretching to 10pm. Just a heads up: All NON-SEASON PASS Holders will be asked to pack up and leave at dark.. For our SEASON PASS HOLDERS, you lucky anglers, get to enjoy fishing all night long! EVERY. SINGLE. NIGHT. After the New Year, we might tweak the hours for NON-Season Pass Holders, but SEASON PASS HOLDERS can still enjoy their all-night fishing. Just remember, our trusty cameras will be watching over the pier and parking lot. Any unexpected fishy antics might make us change the game plan! The fine print.... 2025 Season Passes will end on November 30th at 11:59pm and the 2026 Season Passes will begin on December 1st at midnight. Anyone wishing to fish at night starting in December will have to have the 2026 Season Fishing Pass. If you have questions please feel free to stop in and ask. Tight lines and happy fishing! Ends November 30th, 2025. There is an adult list and a Jr List. The Jr’s will need to be the one who caught the fish please. Some adult help is acceptable.
